As you may have read in our earlier Top Tips for Travellers post Australian’s love to travel. Now that we are about to enter the peak Christmas travel season I thought it would be handy to let you know how NetBank can make your travels easier.
NetCode SMS now travels with you
Thousands of Commonwealth Bank customers logon to NetBank during their travels to stay on top of their finances. Whilst customers have told me they like the security boost that NetCode SMS provides, it was always a bit of a bug bear that it didn’t work with international mobile numbers. So my team made it a priority to have that corrected before this holiday season, and I am really pleased that NetCode SMS now works with most international mobile numbers as well as the global roaming service from Australian mobile carriers.
Remember that NetCode SMS is only required for high risk transactions such as a first time transfer or bill payment, so you won’t need it for simply checking your balances and transactions.
Schedule transfers and bill payments
I prefer not to have to worry about my banking when I’m on a holiday, so I schedule any transfers and bill payments that fall due during the trip. This is a popular feature with our customers and one that really comes into its own when you’d rather be enjoying getting away from it all. Plus you get an email alert to let you know that the payment or transfer was successful.
Let us know before you go
We take security very seriously and have a dedicated team that monitors NetBank for suspicious activity around the clock. So if you normally logon from Hurstville and then suddenly logon from Helsinki your NetBank access is frozen until we can confirm that it’s really you. Before you head overseas it’s always a good idea to let us know where you’re going and for how long so your access to NetBank is not interrupted. If you have a Commonwealth Bank credit card it’s doubly important to let us know as we have monitoring for these transactions too.
Give us a call on 13 2221 and it’ll only take a few minutes to set you up for your trip.
